Cruising on the waterways of Portugal requires a navigation permit!

In the North of this Mediterranean country runs the river Douro, of which 130 kilometers are navigable, between Porto at the Atlantic coast, and the Spanish border.

Although the river has only 5 locks, one of them has a height of 35 meters.

Side branches of the Douro river are the rivers Tamega, Arda, Coa and Sabor.
